What is Reiki?
It is a system of spiritual evolution by which man can
access the universal source of energy. In all existing
systems, currently, on Earth people talk about this energy,
or call it Light, or Prana in Hindu or Chi in Chinese
or Ki in Japanese, it is the same. The difference between
systems is how to take this energy and how to use it.
In qigong, tai chi, tao, it is taken from the atmosphere,
the stars, etc; in Christianity is taken through prayer,
sacrament, the holy water from the priest who has direct
access to the universal source and through Reiki one has
also direct access to the source. There is another difference,
that of vibration of Light, and in this chapter Reiki
is on a very high level; Reiki Masters have a higher vibration
than other practices, except the priests, by emphasizing
that there are Reiki masters who have high vibration than
priests. |
Reiki is vibration, Reiki is Light, Reiki is Universal Energy.
Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho is the current system of Reiki use.
You will become a pure channel for the Reiki vibration and
you will use Reiki for healing body and mind and for own spiritual
growth.
Reiki will lead to what you really are.
What is not Reiki?
- It is not a religion, a cult, a sect, a dogma, spiritualism,
a doctrine, a form of mind control, hypnosis, psychic healing,
imagination, psychotherapy, self-suggestion, a mental technique,
a diagnostic technique, an universal panacea, an alternative
medicine (even if often is framed here for practical reasons).
Benefits of Reiki
It is a system accessible to anyone who wants to grow spiritually
regardless of gender, race, religion, profession, nationality,
philosophical belief. It is superior to radiesthesy as access
to energies, and superior to access to energies of mystics
as number of entities of light.
Reiki History
The founder of this system is Mikao Usui (1865-1926).
Mikao Usui brought this practice back to Earth through an
experience from 1919-1920, the year when he climbed Mount
Kurama (Kuriyama, Koriyama, Kurama Yama) located 12 km north
of the imperial palace in Kyoto, and kept black fast 21 days,
after the first attempt to learn the mystery of healing done
by Buddha. Mikao Usui found mentioned this method of healing
in a monastery, in ancient manuscripts of about 2500 years,
written in Sanskrit. On day 21 he receives this energy, as
a bright white light, very strong, which he called Reiki.
About Reiki Ryoho (Reiki Art to heal) and the founder, Usui
Sensei
REIKI RYOHO is the art of healing with the hands by channeling
the energy of universe, is both an art of healing and a spiritual
practice.
USUI Mikao Sensei (1865 - 1926), founder of Reiki Ryoho (art
of healing or method), achieved lighting and an ability of
healing in a moment that something sent from God stopped on
him in 1922, at the age of 57 when he fasted and meditated
on Mount Kurama in Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan.
The art of healing is called 'USUI REIKI RYOHO to improve
mind and body', and is an art of healing created by Usui Sensei,
not the product of his research, or the discovery and rediscovery.
Usui Sensei felt that this wonderful gift of healing ability
should be shared with people, not kept
for himself and / or his family. So he opened the 'Usui Reiki
Ryoho Gakkai' in Aoyama, in Tokyo in 1922.
Note1: In western countries, was incorrectly stated that
Reiki method of healing was rediscovered by Usui Sensei after
the research of Buddhist scriptures.
In 1925 he moved to Nakano, a suburb of Tokyo to expand his
work of healing. Due to this national fame, he was often invited
to teach Reiki Ryoho in different locations such as the Hiroshima
area, Saga, Kyushu.
On March 9, 1926, died on the road (while traveling) in Fukuyama,
Hiroshima Prefecture. The grave and memorial stone are at
the temple of the Jodo-shu Saihoji or Pure Land Sect of Japanese
Buddhism in Tokyo.
Note 2: In the West, Usui Sensei is known to be a Christian
minister and president of the Christian Doshisha University
in Kyoto. It is really a story. He was from the beginning
a Buddhist.
HAYASHI Chujiro (?? ??) Sensei (1879-1940), a captain of
the Navy of Japan, joined in the 30th class of the Naval Academy
in December, 1899, and graduated in December 1902. It was
initiated in Shinpiden (The Teacher level) in 1925 after the
withdrawal of the Navy, and opened his Reiki clinic at Higashishinano-cho
in Tokyo. He was one of the directors of Usui Reiki Ryoho
Gakkai. His wife, Mrs. Hayashi Chie, was also a member of
the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai. In 1931 he left the Gakkai and
founded 'Hayashi Reiki Kenkyu Kai'. He made 13 Shihan (Teachers),
and two of them were women - Ms. Hayashi and Ms. Chie Hawayo
Takata. In 1940 he died by suicide.
Mrs. Hawayo TAKATA (1900-1980), an American- Japanese born
in Hawaii, was diagnosed with a serious gall bladder disease.
She traveled to Japan where she was treated with Reiki energy
by Hayashi Sensei. She healed completely in just four months
after which she worked for Hayashi Sensei as a Reiki student
for about a year before returning to Hawaii.
Hayashi Sensei visited Mrs. Takata in Hawaii in 1938 and has
initiated her in Shinpiden (Reiki Shihan or Teacher). Mrs.
Takata has established her Reiki clinic in Hawaii. Subsequently,
she
created 22 Teachers - Reiki (the so-called Reiki Masters in
the West). Because of her devotion, the Reiki healing hand
method became widespread in the West.
In 1984, Reiki Art of healing returned to Japan, the birthplace
of Reiki Ryoho. Also now in Japan many Western Reiki systems
are taught and gain popularity while traditional Reiki system
like [Usui Reiki Ryoho] practiced in Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai
existed incessantly, and it lives today.
